The success in the Philippines brought Najib to Gaza.
Eventhough Malaysia has not become a developed nation but this country is in a class of its own as an influential country and well respected. Malaysia's stand has always been consistent and firm in not meddling unnecessarily in global issue but has always maintained support and assistance towards peace. This has made Malaysian leaders a point of reference and mediator in peace talks involving countries with conflicts.
Malaysia's stand has been consistent since the Tun Abdul Razak's era. This stand was furhter strengthened during the era of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad when he managed to push Malaysia forward to the extent of being known as the Asian Tiger.
Our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has inherited his father's and Mahathir's intelligence through his experience working during the latter's tenure as the prime minister. 
He is quick to improve, continue and enhance the already strong foundation.
The will of both former leaders is still apparent in Najib's administration when he succeeded in pushing for the peace accord between the Philippines -MILF in October 2012. As soon as the deal was signed, the conflict that has lasted for 40 years ended.
The success brought Najib to Gaza, where there is a continued oppression of the Palestinians by the Israeli regime.
Najib and members of his delegates including Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor arrived at the Gaza Strip on January 22 to fulfill an official invitation by the president of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas and a personal invitation by the prime minister Ismail Haniyeh.
