Is there an association for prostitutes and transvestites in our country?
KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu Pas Information chief Azman Shapawi Abdul Rani must show proof that the Women, Family and Community Development ministry was funding a prostitutes and transvestites association, or apologise for his lies.
Deputy minister Datuk Heng Seai Kie told The Mole she was still waiting for Azman to come forward to substantiate his wild allegations against her ministry.
“I have checked with our ministry officials and to date none of the Pas leaders have come forward to show proof.
“I don’t think they (Pas) have any proof because we have not been funding any such association, if at all they existed in this country,” Heng said.
The deputy minister is certain that Azman was telling lies.
“I demand a public apology should Azman fail to prove his allegations. The ministry views his allegations very seriously and would not hesitate to pursue further actions,” she stressed.
Heng was responding to allegations made in Kuala Terengganu on Jan 24.
The Pas leader’s speech was uploaded on YouTube and appeared in Azman's blog posting and another in Ruang Bicara Faisal's.
Among others Azman claimed that he had engaged in a dialogue session with the ‘prostitutes and transvestites association’ together with Pas Youth chief Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi.
Both Azman and Nasruddin could not be contacted for comments and have not responded to repeated text messages.
Heng, who is demanding an explanation for the second time since the issue was highlighted in TheMole, said Azman’s lies were just another of the Opposition’s antics against the Government.
In her earlier response Heng had said that the allegation was a baseless fabrication.
