Joined the Glomac Group of Companies in 1991 and appointed to the board in February 1997. Dato' Iskandar was the Group Executive Director from 1997 to October 2004 when he assumed the position of Group Managing Director. In March 2009 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Dato' Iskandar attended the Malay College Kuala Kangsar and later obtained a law degree from the University of Queensland in Australia and also an MBA.

He is also a director of Malaysia Property Incorporated, a body that promotes property investments among foreigners in Malaysia, and is also the vice-chairman of the Malaysian Australian Business Council. Dato'  Iskandar is also a board member of Axis Reit Managers Berhad, the first REITs company to be listed on Bursa Malaysia. In 2008, he was appointed chairman of Gagasan Badan Ekonomi Melayu Selangor, an orrganisation that promotes entrepreneurship in the country.
