Inconsistencies are sinking the opposition's arguments in the Scorpene issue.
It was earlier mentioned that Asia Sentinel serves in a small way the covert operation towards Malaysia by the Dow Jones’s Far Eastern Economic Review (FEER).
It so happens that Asia Sentinel’s Editor and writer of the alleged Malaysian Scorpene Scandal issue is a former FEER writer, John Berthelsen, 74. He goes way back to the time another Dow Jones publication, the Asia Wall Street Journal, was banned in Malaysia for three months in September 1986 and one of the two reporters asked to leave was Berthelsen.
He has an axe to grind on Malasyia. As the leading writer, he plays the role to feed news and ideaus for the local pro-opposition news portal and politicians to spin on. The mechanism can be seen in Part IV here on how they dramatised the information judiciaire(judicial investigation) process by juges d’instruction(investigating judges).
The last phase of their propaganda before retreating into guerilla strategy was to lie and distort the investigation documents leaked by Asia Sentinel and presumably fed by the French lawyers. They claimed that they could not see the documents yet but by July, it was obvious they had copies of the documents when Asia Sentinel began to unveil new material in March 2012. Conveniently, the time is right to drum it into a General Election issue.
