Wednesday, December 21, 2011KUALA LUMPUR: Pas youth deputy chief Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz said his Facebook status update is sufficient to get his message across about the existence of elements of disunity in the party.
“I think what I wanted to say is clear. It is enough to show my support with the stand made by our youth chief (Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi) and Dewan Ulama Pas (council of clergies) to stop inciting hatred and infighting among Pas members,” Nik Mohamad said.
Although he said he was aware that his message would attract attention from many people, Nik Abduh declined to comment further about it.
However Nik Abduh stressed it is not in Pas culture for the members to "destroy" each other.
“It is Umno’s job to bring us down. As Pas members we should stay united instead of fighting among us.”
On his Facebook status yesterday, Nik Abduh, the son of Pas spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, criticised the degrading manner Harakah (Pas official newsletter) portrayed former Pas deputy president Nasharuddin Mat Isa whom he described as a brother.
In his facebook posting, Nik Abduh also rejected the statement made by the party’s secretary general Datuk Mustafa Ali who accused the two Pas leaders of wanting to join Umno when they had actually pledged their loyalty to Pas.
Mustafa was quoted in a news report that Nasharuddin and Selangor exco Datuk Hassan Ali would not stay long in Pas and pursue its struggle and the reason for the duo’s continuous attack on the party was due to resentment towards losing their posts.
Nik Abduh's Facebook posting which was published in a blog among others read: “Tunggulah dulu 2 itu masuk UMNO jika betul-betul nak tunjuk hero menjaga PAS. Jika tidak, ia hanya tuduhan yang memecahkan (Why don't you wait until the two join Umno if you truly want to prove that you are hero out to defend Pas. If not, it is merely an allegation that is destructive)."
Meanwhile Hassan Ali (pic) in a press conference hit back at Mustafa and vice president Mahfoz Omar for joining in the fray of heating up the speculations about him joining Umno.
He criticised Mustafa for being emotional and acting hastily by saying he was trapped in Umno’s agenda.
“Mustafa’s statement gave a negative perception about me. He also made it seem as if my position in the party is no longer secure,” Hassan said.
The Gombak Setia state assemblyman called Mahfoz’s cynical statement of getting him to join Umno as a statement of someone who was bankrupt of ideas.
“I have made a statement (of not joining Umno) before and I have no interest to repeat it again,” he said.
Hassan added Pas Selangor Information chief Saari Sungib as responsible for creating the internal conflict in the party.
Nasharuddin on Monday had also said in a news report he had no plans in joining Umno.
