Tian Chua: Bloggers have the freedom to say whatever they want

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR Information chief Tian Chua today refused to comment on allegations that he was among those who had incited a group of university students to be unruly outside the Putra World Trade Centre .

“I do not want to comment on what was reported in the blogs," Tian Chua said when contacted.

blog posting in Sungai Rapat Online pointed that Tian Chua was the mastermind behind the students' unruly behaviour and the move to bring down a flag bearing Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's picture.

"According to sources, Tian Chua holds on to the belief that if a flag bearin the Umno president could be brought down then Umno could also be defeated, this is a teory of war from China," the blog posting explained citing sources and pictures.

Tian Chua appeared in pictures purportedly taken during the unruly students demonstrations against the Universities and University Colleges Act or AUKU.

While refusing to deny or confirm his involvement in the demonstration Tian Chua said “Bloggers have the freedom to say whatever they want, and they have to be responsible for whatever they say.’’
