Whither Faekah?

KUALA LUMPUR: Focus is on Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim on how he is going to handle the case of his political secretary Faekah Hussein accused of abusing her position and indulging in cronyism.

In Sel13, several documents were published, purportedly proof of Faekah's alleged abuse of power and cronyism - that she had used her position to influence the PKR-led Selangor government to favour a law firm of her relative.

"What Faekah did contradicted Abdul Khalid's directive that every staff linked to the state government should not misuse the letterhead of Menteri Besar's Office for any business-oriented recommendation letter," the portal said.

There is a "movement" initiated by some quarters, speculated to be from the camp of PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali, that is out to get rid of Faekah.

In the micro-blogging social website Twitter, the hashtag #kamisayangPKR and tweethandle @pecatFaekah were created to further pressure Abdul Khalid to sack Faekah.

Prior to this, Abdul Khalid had vowed that he will defend Faekah no matter how aggresive those campaigns are.

In an article carried by AntaraPos, Abdul Khalid had said that some people felt that Faekah was a "bit aggressive in doing her duty", even though it was performed based on on integrity.
