Tis' The Time to Ponder

The end of Ramadan is received with mixed emotions.

For some, it gives a sense of satisfaction, completing a demanding journey. For others, its a time to ponder, what was experienced, gained or lost. A few may feel a sense of relief, looking forward to normalcy.

Whichever, the rush and massive jam cast aside those emotions as patience and tolerance are again tested to the hilt on the highways and by-ways.

While most makes it to their destinations, a fraction does not. Though the statistics are lopsided, the continuing trend of discovering mortality on the roads has and will remain a matter of concern.

At home, prosperity and wealth are, by and large, apparent. For some, it symbolises the achievements of the Government policies over the years. For others, it is through sheer hard work, grit and determination.

Either way, it has to be about abundant opportunities, available in a conducive economic environment spawned by a stable and peaceful nation.

It is such an environment that made the Balik Kampung rush possible as well as meaningful.

On reaching the destination a sense of relief will be felt - a journey completed.

Syawal thus begins. It'll be a month of celebrations, to be shared and spread - yet again made possible not merely by chance but by design.
